The Puh Museum or »Puhova cimprača« is a memorial centre for the world-renowned inventor Janez Puh located in his home village of Sakušak, near Juršinci in Slovenske gorice. By means of ethnological heritage, archive material and museum exhibits his life and work in the field of transport and automotive engineering are presented. Janez Puh was an inventor, visionary, factory-owner, and businessman.
The Puh Museum is maintained by the Compatriots of Janez Puh Association. The Puh Museum is a cimprča house, as they used to be, covered in wheat thatch. The house has small windows. The main premises are furnished, with several ethnological items exhibited representing the era when Puh was era when Puh was growing up and receiving his education. Standing today on the site of Puh’s birthplace, at Sakušak 79, is a modern residential building with a built-in memorial plaque. Puh’s memorial room features artefacts from the Historical Archives in Ptuj curated by Kristina amperl Purg MA for an exhibition entitled Janez Puh/Johann Puch, The Man Who Turned The World On Its Head. The exhibits include photographs, documents, plans, and posters. Also displayed are a two-cylinder motorcycle from 1906, pre-World War I male bicycles by Puh, and two Puh female bicycles from before World War II, among other items of interest.
