St. Bolfenk Church from 1789 is a typical representative of Josephian sacral buildings from the last third of the eighteenth century. Its predecessor was a large graveyard chapel. The construction works to build the church started in 1786, using the material from the urban graveyard Sv. Bolfenk Chapel and St. John Chapel from Grabrniški Vrh near Sv. Lovrenc in Slovenske gorice. It took more than two years to build the church and the parson's house. At the beginning, the appearance of the church was not the same as today, especially as regards the wooden ceiling, which was vaulted as late as in 1880.

The main altar was erected after the church had been completed in 1790. It had a simple altar table made of stone, er side altar is dedicated to St. Lucy. above the altar there was the paint- In front of it, there is a statue of the ing of St. Bolfenk brought from the Mother of Sorrows with dead Jesus in graveyard chapel. The present gold-plated accessory with tabernacle was added in 1880. In 1884 a painting of St. Bolfenk by J. Brollo was placed above the altar. In 1903 the painting was replaced by a statue of St. Bolfenk, made by Perko from Sv. Trojica in Slovenske gorice. The side altars were placed in the church at the time when church was being completed and they have been preserved until present days. The side altar of the Holy Family was re-made in 1895. The statues of the Holy Family were also made by Perko. To the sides of the altar there are statues of St. Francis Xavier, St. John Neumann and St. Martin of Tours. The othher arms, to her side there are statues of St. Apollonia and St. Barbara. Images behind the big altar were painted by Fontoni from Konjice in 1880, the other paintings in the presbytery were made by J. Brollo from Gemona in 1884. The nave was painted in 1895. It is the work of Gornik from St. Peter of Maribor. The present arrangement of the presbytery was designed by France Kvaternik, BSArch.

The bell tower was at certain time periods without bells. It is not known when the first bells were installed. Probably two bells were brought from the St. Bolfenk Chapel. The church acquired new bells in 1885, but they were stolen during World War I. Consequently, in 1923 the decision was made to have new steel bells produced.
